Here's the book I mentioned last Tuesday when we were talking about signals.

Invisible cities is a kind of travel diary to places that do not exist, which are mentioned by the author only by describing signs that he identified within these different places. Polo picks dominant characteristics of each city whether it is its architecture, people, or objects. As a reader, you really never learn the purpose of the narrative as it isn't a traditional fiction, but the interesting part comes from the detail of the cities' descriptions.

I thought it was a relevant story to mention because it emphasizes the qualities of being a good observer, as we're learning this semester. In fact there is a chapter called "Cities and signs", so I definitely recommend this book!
